Shooting for music video 2

Continuing with the shooting process today's shoots were done in the photo studio so to make use of the lighting. i wanted to create a series of shots where the lighting shifts from dark to light so by doing it indoors in a room without windows meant i had easy control of the lighting. This also meant that the background was a dark color that i needed as i wanted the shots to contrast with the white of my artist's top. The white being a style decisions due to the purity of the color an it's representation of rebirth and new beginnings.

Work Diary- Shooting for Music Video

This weekend I began filming for my music video.
we did the scene at the diner party which had other cast members playing snobby guests and the 'date' scene where the artist/singer was in a scenic location outside surrounded by flowers, whilst being wooed by the love interest who purposely had no chemistry with her. Unfortunately he weather meant that the scenes filmed outside were affected by the heavy wind which caused havoc with the props. The dinner party scene also seemed unsuccessful and I do not feel like the result works well with the aesthetic I was attempting to achieve. This has made me rethink my approach to the video so I will potentially brainstorm new ideas and ways to continue keeping my theme of Feeling trapped  and escaping.

shooting for the album cover

Once i completed my light box I did some test shots to see if it worked how I wanted it to work. O i did some tests shoots to experiment.

In these shots i experimented with different lighting and position to see if making changes would have an effect. Once i was pleased with the outcomes I began shooting images for my album cover.
here is a contact sheet showing a selection of images from this  shoot:
Below are the images of how i had the lighting set out around my light box so to show my method, this including the settings i had the lights on which created the outcomes i was happy with

Making a light box

Once I had decided what I wanted to do for the front of the digipack i knew that i was going to need a light box so to easily achieve the bright yellow background i wanted in the pictures.
Having done some research i found a variation of tutorials to create a working light box, many of which didn't seem to need a lot of resources.

to make the light box i used:
- Scissors
- Glue
- A3 coloured paper as this will be used for the bacground
- grease proof/ parchment paper to line the sides so the light will not be so harsh
- a box

1. I cut the lid out of the box
2. I then measured out squares in 3 of the sides of the box, these were the areas that were going to be cut.
3. once cutting those areas I glued the parchment paper over the squares, this is how the light will get through the paper.
4. I then used two A3 sheets of yellow paper as the background and the bottom of the box by glueing the top side of the paper to the roof of the box.
